By attending a Purple Summer holiday, guests agree to accept the following terms:
  • Guests accept they must have appropriate travel insurance which covers them for COVID-19 and for consequential expenses that might be accrued for having to change, shorten or lengthen their stays. Insurance should be arranged ideally before but if not then immediately after booking, to provide maximum protection. If guests fail to purchase adequate insurance, they accept they are liable for the charges themselves.
  • All guests accept they must download the local COVID-19 app before their arrival in the destination country (France or Spain) and keep it running for the duration of their stay in order to inform and be informed by local track and trace systems. Any alerts must be acted upon, including informing Purple Summer of any warnings received, so that we may protect all guests and all staff alike.
  • Guests accept they must not travel to our villas, in line with national regulations, if they show any of the following COVID symptoms,:
  1. a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  2. a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  3. a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
  • Guests accept that they are renting the villa as one household and one family group. Purple Summer will treat the party as a single household in delivering services in/to the villa as we have always done, but also in the event of COVID symptoms or infection. If any single guest in the household shows symptoms then the whole household will need to isolate in line with national regulations.
  • Guests accept that due to the impact of COVID 19, Purple Summer may have to reduce the service delivery at very short notice, in order to maintain the safety of both clients and employees, and in order to remain in compliance with nationally mandated rules or best practice.  This might include, but not be restricted to:
  1. Stricter check in and check out times to prevent mixing of different client groups, and to give sufficient time for our cleaning teams to deep clean the villa in between groups
  2. Withdrawal of all villa staff from the villa in the event of client symptoms (until a negative test is received) or for the duration of the stay if positive tests are received. We would endeavour to provide the highest service level that we are able to in this case, but service might be reduced to pre-prepared delivered meals as guests self isolate in the villa.
  3. In a situation where members of our staff show symptoms and/or test positive for COVID-19, they will be required to isolate, along with the rest of their household (other staff members). This may reduce the service we are able to offer, either in the short term or for the rest of the stay. We would endeavour to provide the highest service level that we are able to in this case, but service might be reduced if replacement staff are not immediately available.
  4. Whilst traditionally we have always tried to minimise changes in the structure of the villa teams, guests must accept that the villa staff team might change during a stay as other staff members are required to cover for people taken ill or required to isolate.
  • In the event of previous guests in a particular villa being symptomatic of, or testing positive for, COVID-19 then arriving guests accept they may need to begin or spend their entire stay in an alternatively available Purple Summer villa, assuming one is available. Global recommendations are that hospitality rooms after left untouched for 72 hours after the check out of a COVID positive guests, before rooms are cleaned. Guests will only be admitted to a villa once Purple Summer are happy that it has been totally and completely disinfected, and rendered safe for new guests. In the event that no alternative villa is available, guests will have to stay in alternative accommodation at their own expense until the villa is safe for occupation. Purple Summer will do everything in its power to help source this accommodation but cannot be held responsible for the accommodation offerings or availability of third party accommodation providers.
  • In line with global recommendations, Purple Summer will never ask guests currently in residence to break their mandated isolation and leave their rooms/villa in the instance of COVID symptoms being evident or a positive test being received. Existing guests will be able to stay on for the mandated period, but at their own cost (prices to be derived from existing Purple Summer pricing structure as advertised on the website and to be in blocks of 1 week even if fewer days are taken). Purple Summer will support any insurance claim in this regard (but as above, it is up to clients to ensure that they have sufficient insurance to protect them from COVID-related consequences).
  • Consequently, incoming guests accept that if a previous group of guests have tested positive, and are forced to self isolate in the villa, then the new incoming guests to this villa cannot take up residence. Purple Summer will do everything they can to accommodate them in another Purple Summer villa if there is one available. In the event one is not available then Purple Summer will do everything it can to help guests find alternative accommodation, at the guests’ own cost. Purple Summer will do everything in its power to help source this accommodation but cannot be held responsible for the accommodation offerings or availability of third party accommodation providers. If alternative accommodation is required in this situation it will be at the expense of the incoming guests, and Purple Summer will do everything in its power to support any insurance claim in this regard (but as above, it is up to clients to ensure that they have sufficient insurance to protect them from COVID-related consequences).
  • Upon leaving resort, if any guest becomes symptomatic or has a positive test result for COVID-19 within 14 days, they will immediately inform Purple Summer so that we can take necessary actions to protect future guests and staff alike.
